My interest deals with themes such as estrangement, loss and distance.

The sense of displacement from which it takes the steps, is experienced as an opportunity for the genesis of new forms of identity able to create new narratives that tells fragile communities, looking for openness and inclusivity.

My works take the form of participated actions and complex works of art that want to evoke a poetic sense of resistance.

Meeting the identity of places and people, I try to establish an intimate relation with them, building unexpected readings in a sort of magic realism which starts from what is daily and real, and leads me to metaphysical and wander, using elementary, heterogeneous and ephemeral materials, from sound to drawings, from collage to video.

Title: “The city and the sky”

LA CITTA’ E IL CIELO – The city and the sky/ 2018 The city and the sky is a film that tells the story of a group of men and women of different age and geographical origins, who end up among the ruins of an abandoned village, in Aspromonte, in Calabria region of the South of Italy. They try to “dwell”, repair, and recreate a sense of community. This video investigates abandoned places as not merely geographical places, but as psychological ones; in collaboration with MEDU – Doctors for Human Rights, an humanitarian organization based in the South of Italy, promoting projects against exploitation of foreign laborers in agriculture.

The recurring element of salt accompanied the narration as a symbol of the sea as well as themes such as preserving (memory, meaning), wisdom and salary – the word sapienza and salario being rooted in the word salt in Italian.
