Past projects

Wave Biennal

Position: Curator

Wave is the contemporary art biennial of Nantes, bringing together 50 art spaces around the city (galleries, art centers, artist studios, artist run spaces…) for one month in October. We program exhibitions, conferences, studio visits, performances for people to discover the vitality and diversity of the art scene. We offer free guided tours around the city to discover the participating structures either for individuals, groups and schools.

I was in charge of organizing the whole event, and I curated the opening night.

Why have you chosen to be a curator or why has curatorship chosen you? I like to think curating as a way of bringing people together – communities, generations, nationalities. Society is shaped by the diversity of people’s backgrounds, and I think curating is a mean to create unexpected meetups, in order to generate a better understanding of each-other.

What do you think is the purpose of art? To change perspectives.
