Currently lives and works in: Rome, Italy

Lively, active, dynamic and passionate! I’m an Art Historian, with a bachelor’s degree in Street Art & Urban World.

Meeting people, discovering new cultures and habits, starting connection with “others” are the most important things in my life and being a curator gives me the opportunity to put all these aspects together in the same moment.

Areas of interest: Urban, Visual and Social issues… Art in all its forms! I am interested in how art can tell stories and create relationships, bringing people together from all over the world.

Why are you a part of MagiC Carpets: I’ve always believed that art is an important medium/tool to share ideas, actions, thoughts, feelings, lives… This platform is the representation of what, in my mind, is the social, cultural and multicultural role of the artistic projects and of the art curators. To create bridges, to connect ideas, experiences, but most of all communities, this is why I am honoured to be part of MagiC Carpets.

Past projects you are proud of (before MC):

Un murale per il Liceo Scientifico

After the appearance of a slanderous and homophobic writing on the outside wall of the high school, the Principal decided to present to the Municipality of Ravenna a street art project. The idea behind the project was to use this kind of art, not to erase the writing but, starting from this defamatory writing, create a new mural depicting an inclusive environment/reality. I followed this project from the beginning until the realization of the mural, which took place in October 2019. It was really insightful as the community of students and inhabitants were directly involved in the project. The students selected the street artist, among many applications to the Public Call. The local community helped and supported the artist.

Why have you chosen to be a curator or why has curatorship chosen you?

“CURARE: dare oggetto delle proprie cure, attendere con premura e diligenza a una cosa o a una persona”
(ENG: To take care: be cautious; keep oneself safe)

I wanted to start with the Italian definition of the verb curare, to take care in English, from which stems etymologically the word CURATOR, as it is exactly what I think of this job. In my future as a curator, I want to take care of the others and people through art.

“The treatment of a cultural epoch should not admit any disciplinary limits. It is the history of images and ideas, projects and customs, objects and documents, and for this reason it is obliged to include every aesthetic language: architecture, art, comics, cinema, design, fashion, literature, photography, theatre, artists’ crafts…”
Germano Celant

What do you think is the purpose of art? I believe that art has many purposes….one of these is to complete the puzzle of our everyday life. With art you can see the world exactly how it is or you can imagine a different world. You can connect people because the language of art is universal. Art to share and for sharing, art to communicate and for communicating, art to change and for changing, art to interact and for interacting….
