A conversation about the necessity and possibility of belonging

What does belonging to a community and language group mean?
What constitutes a sense of belonging and what complications can it create?
And how do necessity and impossibility arise?

Current world events, which also resonate in our society, encourage us to return to the stories of individuals and the possible mutual dialogue between different people, communities and places, therefore, in the summer of 2022, the Institute of Latvian New Theater approached photographer and documentarian Andrejs Strokinas to participate in the residency of the “MagiC Carpets” project and to research and document an issue or topic of interest in more depth.
