Tbilisi Photo Festival 2022
The 2022 edition of the Tbilisi Photo Festival, now in its thirteenth year, begins on September the 23rd and will naturally focus upon the conflict in Ukraine.
The 2022 Tbilisi Photo Festival is centered upon two exhibitions:
‘Ukraine Runs Through It’ is a long-term documentary project by Polish photographer Justyna Mielnikiewicz. The result of years of in-depth research, from 2014 to the first few weeks of the war, her photographs capture many aspects of modern Ukraine.
‘Licking War Wounds’ is a long-term performance (2016-2021) and photo documentation, by Ukrainian visual artists Andrii Dostliev and Lia Dostlieva that deals with the trauma of war and attempts to overcome it.
Both exhibitions will be held at the Tbilisi Photography & Multimedia Museum, and the artists themselves will be present on the opening night on 23 September.
